Prey (Shifters Series) by Rachel Vincent

A bit about the book
"The fight was about
to get unbelievably,
irreversibly bad"

Having barely escaped a tribunal with her life, defiant werecat Faythe can't seem to keep out of trouble. Her disobedience jeopardises her father's position as Alpha of the south-central Pride and a young tabby in her care refuses to shift into cat form to save her own life.

But a darker danger lurks in the bloody and mysterious disappearance of Faythe's boyfriend, exiled stray Marc. Tired of being a target, Faythe's ready to embrace her destiny and fight like an Alpha to get Marc back and defend the honour of her Pride.

What I thought
Brilliant fourth book! This is definitely my favourite book in the Shifter series so far, and I still have two more to go. This one was, in my book, definitely a weepy, I couldn't stop the tears from falling.
Faythe is having a bit of a rough time, she only gets to see Marc every so often, then she's trying her hardest to get Kaci (the young tabby she's took under her wing) to shift because she's so weak and shifting is the only thing that can help her. Then Marc goes missing and it turns out he's been kidnapped, so the only thing Faythe has on her mind is finding Marc, which most of the Pride presumes is dead. But Faythe will never believe that until she she's him for herself and she will never give up looking for him either. And to top it all off they're having problems with the werecat council, so yet again, Faythe's got a lot going on.
Full of fast-paced action all the way through, I loved this book.
