When Claire is ordered to repair the systems that protect Morganville, it's not just cutting into her study time, it's a life-threatening problem. If there's one thing this vampire-infested town is serious about, it's security.
But achieving the impossible only brings a whole new set of problems, and the upgrades have unexpected consequences: people inside the town are slowly beginning to forget who they are, even the vampires. Soon, the town's little memory problem has turned into a full-on epidemic. Now Claire needs to figure out a way to pull the plug on her experiment - before she forgets how to save Morganville...
What I thought
Great book! Ghost Town is book nine in The Morganville Vampire series, and if your familiar with this series then I'm sure you'll agree it's a great series. You're following the life's of, Michael Glass, Shane Collins, Eve Rosser and Claire Danvers, all teenagers and all residents of the Glass House, and all residents of Morganville, which is a town mixed with humans and vampires, but basically the vampires run the town.
I really enjoyed this book, I was hooked to this series from the first page of the first book (Glass Houses), and I've continued to keep up with them, I will admit this series is one of my favourite YA series.
Ghost Town lived up to the books before it as I was on the edge of my seat at some parts, and tears in my eyes at other points. This book definitely has the usual action, which is loads of it because to be honest, their is always something going on in Morganville that is life-threatening, and to me, that's what keeps you hooked.
I'm going to leave you with the Introduction to Morganville, which everyone needs to know lol:
Welcome to Morganville. You'll never want to leave.
So, you're new to Morganville. Welcome, new resident! there are only a few important rules you need to know to feel comfortable in our quiet little town:
- Obey the speed limits,
- Don't litter,
- Whatever you do, don't get on the bad side of the vampires.
As a human newcomer, you'll need to find yourself a vampire Protector - someone willing to sign a contract to keep you and yours from harm (especially from the other vampires). In return, you'll pay taxes...just like in any other town. Of course, in most other towns those taxes don't get collected by the Bloodmobile.
Oh, and if you decide not to get a Protector, you can do that, too...but you'd better learn how to run fast, stay out of the shadows, and build a network of friends who can help you. Try contacting the residents of the Glass House - Michael, Eve, Shane, and Claire. They know their way around, even if they always end up in the middle of the trouble somehow.
Welcome to Morganville. You'll never want to leave.
And if you do...well, you can't.
Sorry about that.
